How it all began

Hello my lovely readers, I hope you had a great weekend. We have had a busy few weeks full of beautiful weddings, consultations and flowery loveliness. We have been  making some exciting plans for the next 12 months which got me thinking about how it all began,  so let me share a little more.

In 2017, We bought our first house on Bridge Row. It was a perfect sweet cottage in the middle of the village, neighbours on both sides, one being the village pub which was very handy. The cottage was full of character ready to move straight into. My favourite part was of course the garden, a small cottage garden full of history and excitement, it was overgrown and needed some tlc, with a crumbly stone wall wrapping around each side and a little old shed hiding in the corner. Little did I know it was the beginning of Bridge Row Flowers and where I truly belonged.

Growing up, my family home had a spacious garden and the village had lots of space to explore. My dad worked on a local farm so I was often outdoors and always around nature but it wasn't until I had my own Garden at Bridge Row that I found exactly where I should be. I began spending lots of time in the garden, I experimented, I destroyed, I succeeded and I learnt a lot. I finally grew enough beautiful flowers to make a couple of small posies for my family and I have never looked back. Over Covid times I sold beautiful British flowers on my road side stall every week meeting new customers and the local flower farmers every day, I became addicted to the happiness and joy that flowers brought to people and decided it was time to launch Bridge Row Flowers, an idea I had been dreaming of for a long time. As Susan Jefferies said ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’  I trained at Tallulah Rose Flower School soaking in every single moment, a school like no other, encouraging me to become the Florist and person I had been dreaming about.

Today we have a couple of growing patches in the village which I use to keep connected to the nature of flowers,  growing a small selection. However this year we will be expanding our growing patch which I am a little giddy about to say the least so keep a look out for the new flower beds and lots more beautiful British grown wedding flowers. With a growing family we have now moved house but luckily for me I can still see Bridge Row as we moved just across the field. I create arrangements using nature as my inspiration for wedding and events covering Lancashire and the Lake district. I love getting to know each couple to truly step inside each day, dedicating my time to create romantic wedding flowers.
